Ever wonder what others think about elections? Find out!
internet news, online entertainment
In an amazingly creative use of a new social media tool Twitter has created an Election 2008 page. This page filters out twitters from all Twitter users having to do with the candidates and the election.
Upon first entering the page you see a dizzying array of comments, one after another, streaming in from the top of the page. The comments are limited to one page full, but with so many being updated so quickly, it is clear to see you could easily get your fill of political talking points here.
Then, in a unique combination of filters and tag words, the site allows you to choose a top filter word, then to filter even further by adding an additional tag to the search from key phrases at the side of the page. For instance, I chose my first tag words “Katie Couric. Then, on the side I chose “Sarah Palin“.
The results:
Updates about “Katie Couric” and Sarah Palin from Twitter users scanning paused

| midtownninja It’s really striking how much Sarah Palin uses the passive voice in her intvw with Katie Couric. Obtuse writing reads this way, but speech?! | ||
| davidgeller Anyone see Palin’s interview by Katie Couric last night? NBC’s Williams played it too. This woman (Palin) is a shockingly poor speaker. |
Technology!! You just hafta love it don’t you! A person really could get lost in this social media world forever, and never come out.
Thanks Kathy, for the tip on this one!! You can visit this page at http://election.twitter.com/
